The Motorcycle Safety Foundation's BRC-3 Wheel Basic Motorcycle RiderCourse is a 2 day Beginner / Intermediate ON-LINE and HANDS-ON Riding Program for those with no or very little experience or are currently riding a 3 Wheel motorcycle.

 

This Course introduces the basic knowledge and practices the physical and mental skills necessary for responsible 3WMC operation.  Training 3 Wheel motorcycles are provided, or you may bring your own 3 Wheel motorcycle (restrictions apply).

 

Upon successful completion, you will receive a NYS specific MSF Completion Card.  The Completion Card, your current and valid Driver License and your current valid Motorcycle Learner Permit (obtained at DMV) are required to be eligible for the Road Test Waiver Option. All are presented at a DMV office to waive the DMV Road Test for the 3 Wheel ONLY Motorcycle License upgrade.

COURSE COMPONENTS  
​

1. ePackage 1 - Online eCourse Prerequisite - Included in your tuition and mandatory before you attend!  You will receive a separate email with a unique eP1 link and instructions.  Check your spam and junk folders for the email as well. 

2. Hands-on Riding Exercises: (approximately 4 -5 hours each day)

Day 1 - Each riding exercise has specific objectives that must be achieved to continue.

Day 2 - At the end of the riding exercises, the riding skill evaluation is conducted. 

 
GENERAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Participation in this course requires:

    • Physical stamina

    • Motor coordination

    • Mental alertness

    • Meeting the objectives of the Riding Exercises

  • There is no guarantee of successful completion

  • There are no refunds once the course begins

  • Valid New York State Driver License or valid out of state Driver’s License.  (No DUI Restrictions, Not Suspended, Not Revoked, No Driver Learners Permits) 

  • NO LICENSE = NO PARTICIPATION = NO REFUND

  • Be 16 years of age or older. 16 & 17 must bring a parent to the first session

  • COST:  $99.00  + $11 convenience fee.

  • CLASS SIZE: 4 - 8 students (Maximum)

  • COURSE LOCATION:  All Classes report to Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14623, Parking Lot M-1

  • A NYS Motorcycle Learner Permit is not required for registration or attendance, but is required to apply for the Road Test Waiver of the NYS DMV Road Test

  • 3 Wheeled Motorcycles are provided for this combination Classroom & Hands-On Training Program; 2 wheels in front and 1 in the rear

  • If you are interested in riding your personal 3 Wheel Motorcycle (3 wheels only, NO sidecars, etc.), contact Learn 2 Ride, Inc. via phone, text or email before registering!!!

  • Successful completion qualifies for a waiver of the NYS DMV Motorcycle Road Test for 3 wheel only motorcycle license

 

BRING YOUR REQUIRED RIDING EQUIPMENT TO ALL SESSIONS

  • Helmet:  DOT approved. 

  • Eye Protection:  Face shield, Safety glasses or Goggles (Sunglasses can be accepted)

  • Gloves:  Leather (preferably) or cotton---no fingerless gloves

  • Riding pants OR Jeans: Denim or other sturdy material—NO HOLES & NO FLARE-LEG!!

  • Riding Jacket OR Long-Sleeved Shirt: Must cover the wrists

  • Riding Boots: or other sturdy boots that cover the ankle to provide support and protection and have as flat a heel as possible –NO SNEAKERS

  • Rain Gear:  Classes run rain or shine

 

  • ATTENDANCE:  Mandatory for all sessions!  Arrive on time and be prepared!  Be sure you can attend all sessions!!!!

  • ARRIVE ON TIME, PREPARED & READY TO RIDE!  There is no grace time allowed and if you are late you will forfeit your tuition!!!

 

  • THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR A 2 WHEEL MOTORCYCLE LICENSE!!!
